sentence-level deja vu

I wonder why I feel like I’ve read this sentence before?

The thought of her drifting into Melody’s club in this state of mind—tranquilized, fearless—came to me with a sudden tightening of alarm, and even though I knew that for her to do such a thing, to go out to a sex club stoned on prescription-strength tranquilizers, would be an aberration amounting to total metamorphosis, the image was peculiarly potent.
